Silk (Prototype)

Silk is the initial artwork prototype of my parametric Wallart Collection, Rythm & Juice. It showcases a rythmized interplay of exactly 4900 3D-printed sticks suspended in a sea of epoxy resin.

Inspired by the contrasting black and white gradients of a monochromatic reference image - a crumpled silk cloth - each stick has a unique height and diameter, dictated by the grayscale values of its corresponding pixel. Together they represent an abstract and minimalist translation from a 2D image to a 3D form.
